Gripping and interesting stories are woven on aberrations gulped vicariously by the audience of soap operas and thrillers whose lead characters are much much larger than life. Nobody wants to know the real story expressed honestly of normal people living a normal life. We perhaps fear facing reality without the shades little realising that the most profound moving and intense tales emanate from the smoky cabins of the common man. If the purpose of all great art is to hold a mirror to reality why is it that sensational and thrilling expositions of half truths or lies are the order of the day. Probably reality is too harsh and truth too hard hitting to digest for a generation living on extraneous aids of sustained excitement and who need quick thrills every moment. ...
